Pretty much a line for line adaptation of Eric Nylund’s novel “The Fall of Reach Boot Camp” focuses on the first 13 of Nylund’s story recounting John 117’s induction into the war the Spartan’s training and initial missions and –most interestingly the early days of the UNSCInsurrectionist war Writer Brian Reed doesn’t change or tweak much from the original source material and perhaps that’s for the best Nylund’s original novel the first “Halo” book ever published is so strong both from a story and a character standpoint that it’s hard to imagine any changes that could have realistically strengthened it A solid adaptation of a terrific story
