Find Out About FeelingsHelp curious preschoolers find outabout themselves with these fantastic lift the flap board books Find Out About Feelings helps curious preschoolers get to grips with their feelings and emot I was very disappointed with the content of this book I understand that it’s about familiarising children with a wide variety of feelings and that not all feelings are pleasant but I really didn’t like some of the examples used On one page a boy is “embarrassed” because he fell over came last in a race wet himself and got the answers wrong on a test I don’t want my child to attach shame to making mistakes or getting something wrong On another page a girl is “disgusted” by different types of food Like many children mine is a pretty picker eater so the last thing I want to do is plant negative associations with food in her mind There were a few other scenarios that didn’t sit right with me and a typo on one of the pages which is surprising for a book with such simple text On the plus side my daughter loved the flaps and the illustrations and the characters are ethnically diverse but overall I definitely wouldn’t recommend it
