T open by an axe blade To Scotland Yard the crimes are murders to solve To Sherlock Holmes they present an intriguing puzzle But to the literary man Dr John H Sherlock Holmes Kindle Watson they seem a deliberate re staging of the brutal murders depicted in Dostoyevskys narrative If Watson. Mr Victor has developed a uniue sophisticated approach to creating new Sherlock Holmes stories He takes another great classic work of literature in this case Crime and Punishment Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky and weaves the characters and some elements of the plot into a completely new Sherlock Holmes mystery Well done It helps a lot of you have read the classic story as well as being familiar with the stories of The Canon It was 45 years ago that I read Crime and Punishment but I could still or less recall it if you have not read it you might want to read the Wikipedia summary before enjoying Mr Victor s original treatment to it
