Here in three dimensions as they follow a single boat across the sea and discover fellow vessels With six three dimensional pop up paper designs brought to life in color by illustrator and pop up book expert Gérard Lo M. I love this book it's so gorgeous The 6 pop up pages are full of detail the ships are printed on both sides so you can look at the back and there are strings attached to represent the ropes used on the boats Each page shows you a different type of boat and some information about it with a 4 line rhyme that tries to make some sort of narrative There is a small boat with a man woman with a net and a dog on each of the pages next to the ship being described and there is a small drama when the dog falls into the water but there is no actual story to followThe boats featured are mainly French as the author is French It looks suitably French too due to the red white and light and dark blue used Simply gorgeousThe paper used in the book is top notch it's thick and feels lovely honestly you never get paper like that nowadays except maybe on expensive invitations The printing is really good and the whole book just looks and feels luxurious A wonderful book to have or to receive as a gift it is unusual and really uite lovely just to look through

READ A Sea Voyage

A Sea VoyageOnaco A Sea Voyage will fire the imaginations of sailors and explorers both young and A MOBI #181 old and offer children an exciting way to discover different ways to journey across the sea Illustrated in color throughout. I was a little disappointed in this book although the pop up aspect of it is lovely – if it workedThe book is uite small for the price 6½ inches by 10½ inches but a lot of work has gone into it and it's a good sturdy hardback The pop up parts of the boats and ships pull out on thin mercarised elastics which should pop the pieces out but some are too tight and some so loose the elastics just hang – not adjustable in any wayThe stories below each vessel are short but rhyme nicely something children always love It would be nice if there was just a bit story to them and maybe a bit information about what each vessel does andor is used foruite an expensive book and once the pop up novelty has worn off or broken I'm not sure there's enough to keep children's interest
