One of those books that doesn't live up to its own hype The gung ho prose style loses its novelty factor pretty uickly and the jokes and witticisms seem to all be repeated at least once if not several times I can't say it was bad it was okay but a bit disappointing With research stories and less of a downhill racer style it could have been a much better book So many riders left out it even started to admit some of the ones it could have put in So why didn't they Couldn't be arsed seems to be the answer It berates the reader about how great cyclist punish themselves to achieve their greatness but doesn't follow that example and just bashes off this book without putting the sweat and hard grind in to make it something special Also the cover of the hardback had a curiously rubbery feel to it rather like a dry condom This is the sort of book you give as a present not treasure yourself read ¹ eBook or Kindle ePUB Ê The Velominati
